On October 12, 2005, at the Edmonton Northlands Agricom, Akina sang the Canadian National Anthem in Cree in front of an audience of 2500 children.  This event known as the Alberta Aboriginal Showcase was sponsored by Alberta Education.  This was her largest audience yet.

After Akina's performance, we made our way to our vehicle and a few students stopped her and congratulated her on a job well done.  One girl said "Akina Rocks" and showed great pride in her Metis heritage.  Akina's first fans.

Susan Aglukark is a wonderful role model for Aboriginal people.  Akina met her when she was eleven.   In June 2005, Ms. Aglukark gave Akina permission to sing two of her songs at National Aboriginal Day celebrations at Canada Place in Edmonton.  Susan Aglukark is an inspiration.

Adam Gregory is a great country singer and Akina met him while he was helping serve food to people less fortunate in Edmonton's Inner City.

I love to sing in my community of Saddle Lake.  I was invited to perform for the North East Alberta Junior B All-Star game.  I am proud to say that I am 12-1 when I sing for the home team.  Go Warriors Go!!!

My only loss came in double overtime.  I would have to say that my good luck works for one overtime, after that you are on your own.
